A Letter from Pastors Ben & Heather

Welcome to the 2024/25 edition of Kingdom Builders (KB) Magazine.

We invite you to explore this magazine and discover how we are on mission as a church community in Calgary and globally. You'll be blessed by the stories of what God has done through Kingdom Builders, and we know you'll be excited to learn more about our plans for the coming year. This past year has once again been marked by God's favour upon our church, as we've witnessed the expansion of the Gospel through First Assembly both locally and globally. Last year through KB Missions, First Assembly was able to invest in the work of God in dozens of countries, impacting thousands of lives for eternity. Your generosity provided monthly support to over 12 global and local workers and missionaries. We were also able to sow into multiple global projects, including responding to humanitarian crisis situations.

 Our KB Missions strategic focus remains centered on the priority of reaching; unreached people groups, the disadvantaged (including the poor, orphaned, and widowed), church multiplication, local church leadership and the next generation. Because of your faithful support last year, we will be supporting 3 new global workers and adding new strategic missions projects this year. At First Assembly, our mission is to expand not only globally but locally. We continue to support the PAOC* and our Calgary Dream Center as strategic missional partners. This past year, we've continued to extend our local reach through TMS** leadership schools, discipleship training, youth and kid’s programs, camps, and benevolence initiatives like FA Cares.

Through Kingdom Builders Vision 100, we've now begun initial planning for FA's eventual expansion in South Calgary. With that, we launched our Seton Campus on Easter Sunday 2023. Now, nearly 300 attendees gather in the south at our 10:30 AM service time. By God’s grace, we are establishing a strong gospel presence in the south while we make preparations for our future south property. These are milestones worth celebrating, and we give God all the glory!

As God has blessed and called First Assembly, He has called us to be a blessing. Let's continue sowing seeds of generosity, faith, and obedience, stretching beyond our regular giving to fulfill the Great Commission both globally and locally, so we can reach as many people with the Gospel as we can, everywhere we can.

Dear FA Family,

On June 16, 2024 I shared exciting news about our season of growth as a church. Since 2019, our congregation has doubled in size. This is a testament to God's work among us and your faithful commitment to our shared vision and mission.

To support this growth, we've taken significant steps of faith and made key strategic investments:

• We’ve added two more service times, now offering five services every weekend.
• We purchased land for future development and submitted an application to the city.
• We started a new campus in a rented facility to reach more people and grow our presence in the south.
• Our staff and volunteer teams have grown to better serve our expanding congregation.
• Our facilities are used to capacity nearly daily for various ministries and weekly discipleship.

These efforts have led to more Kingdom impact—more attendees, more salvations, baptisms, and discipleship growth. We give God all the glory!

On Vision Sunday last fall, I shared from Isaiah 54:2: "Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes." This scripture continues to encourage and guide us through this season of stretching and rapid growth.

Your support through prayer and giving has been incredible. Thank you First Assembly family. Together we are doing our part in partnering in God's mission both globally and locally through First Assembly:

The good news is that we have reached half of our giving goals for both the KB V100 and KB Missions campaigns. The challenging news is that we still need to reach the other half.

We are doing everything we can to save, optimize, and make every dollar stretch in order to facilitate the rapid growth we are experiencing. In some ways we are growing faster than we can keep up with. Your continued obedient generosity will help us make an even greater Kingdom impact and enable us as a church to serve and reach more people for Christ.
